About CHAD for PC
- Two versions of the CHAD Access application can be downloaded and run on Windows PCs. See the
Download page. CHAD Access
contains the full set of raw values from each study and the combined CHAD database. This application
also offers additional functionality. Both versions should run on most Intel compatible computers
using the Windows 95/98/NT operating system.
- The "MDB" Version. This version contains the entire CHAD Access database, including forms
and scripts. You will need Microsoft Access 97 to utilize it. If you know how to use Access, you can
perform custom SQL queries on any of the tables in the database.
After downloading the file, uncompress it with either
WinZip or PKZIP
.
Move the file where desired.
Double click on the file name or icon in the Windows Explorer. This will start MS Access and load
the database. If you hold down the Shift key while loading the database, you will be put into the advanced
mode and have full access to the data and forms.
- The Runtime Version. This version of CHAD can be run on a Windows PC without MS
Access. It contains the same data and forms as the MDB version. However, you cannot use this version
in the advanced mode. You can only manipulate and query the data with the user forms built for CHAD.
This version also requires an additional installation step.
Download and uncompress the file. It will uncompress into a folder. With Windows Explorer, go into
that folder and double click on setup.exe. This will begin an installation wizard. Follow the instructions.
When the installation has completed, run the application by double clicking on the chad2000.mdb icon
in Windows Explorer.
